Roberto Clemente Walker was born on August 18, 1934 in Carolina, Puerto Rico. He died on December 31, 1972 at age 38 in a plane crash in the ocean off the coast of Isla Verde, Puerto Rico. Clemente chartered the airplane to fly relief supplies to Nicaragua after a massive earthquake.
